The purpose of my blog is to just talk and discuss everything to do about anything. A friend introduced me to the whole blog world and I am finding it pretty interesting thus far. So a little info about me, I was born and raised in Canada. My parents are from Jamaica and Trinidad and I love to travel. On that note, myself and a friend (Red Cat, you have to check out her blog) are currently planning a trip to London, England and this is where my focus is day and night. The majority of my postings will be on our trip and God willing when I reach there I will be able to share my experiences. Ever since I can remember I always had a fascination of England, I enjoyed there harsh humor and especially the accents. I would watch shows like
Are You Being Served and
French and Saunders and just be captivated with their culture. So finally a year ago I decided to see what being there would actually be like, I mean yeah I watched all those shows but obviously the real thing is way different from TV. Last December I packed my bags and went to London for a few days, by MYSELF. At first I was scared, I mean I am going across the world all by myself, the furthest I have ever been alone was to L.A. So yeah, that experience was great. I was able to go to all the big attractions, like The Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, etc.
After that experience I realized this is where I belong. I felt so at home it was kind of weird. So when I came back to Canada I was trying to see if any of my friends were interested in doing a Working Holiday Visa but no one responded, so I put that idea on the back burner. Until a couple of months ago when myself and a friend had our whole world turn upside down. After losing someone very dear to you, and in my case it had to be two people, you being to analyze your own life. I had to ask myself, "what are you doing with your life?" "are you happy?" and "what are you going to accomplish just settling down with a job you don't enjoy?" And it so happened my friend was having similar thoughts and for some reason, not sure why, we decided that we just needed to go to England. It was just the right thing we felt we had to do. Anyway so here I am and in a couple of months there I will be and man I can't wait!!!!
Right now we are still in the planning stages, but progressing. We booked our tickets and a hotel to stay when we arrive. Now our only focus is applying for the Working Holiday Visa, employment and deciding on a flat to rent, which should hopefully not be too hard.
