Its funny I always tell RC that during the week we work just like almost every British citizen and on the weekend we become tourist. So this weekend we decided to go to the Tate Modern to view various pieces of art. Unlike my museum experience, I really enjoyed this little adventure. The Tate is quite far from where we live so when we got off the tube I had to wonder if we were in the right place cause all I saw was industrial buildings. Then RC told me that the Tate was in an old industrial building because they decided to move their international modern art that dated from 1500 to the present, from the Tate Britain gallery. Ok well she didn't say the dates but I thought I should just add that in :-)Anyway, it was kind of confusing to actually get to the galleries but once we found it, I would have to say both of us were just captivated. We went to several rooms, the free ones of course, but it soon became apparent that to really enjoy each exhibition, we would have to make another trip back to the gallery. Here are two pieces that I really found interesting:
Untitled by Christopher Wool
The Uncertainty of the Poet by Giorgio de Chirico

did you use the orange light posts to help you find your way? It is a pretty nice gallery. did you see all the stuff from Jackson Pollack and Monet- "Water Lillies"? really nice, hun. ~d
